Innovation at Last
Suzie designed this product to protect her daughters and other female athletes from breast injuries, and it quickly became a mission to raise awareness and normalize conversations about breast health in sports.
In 2018, Suzie Betts, Founder of Boob Protect, discovered painful lumps in her breasts which required biopsies and surgeries. Doctors thankfully confirmed they were non-cancerous and most likely caused by impacts from sports in her youth.
Suzie designed this product to protect her daughters and other female athletes from breast injuries, and it quickly became a mission to raise awareness and normalize conversations about breast health in sports.
Women’s sports are growing in popularity, yet major disparities remain in media coverage, sponsorships, and access to essential protective gear. Unlike men, female athletes often lack specialized equipment and support.
Boob Protect seeks to bridge this gap. More than just a product, it’s part of a movement empowering female athletes, raising awareness for breast health and tackling issues unique to women’s sports. By offering the right protection, Boob Protect enables women to play confidently and safely, fostering a community where female athletes feel valued and supported.
The goal is clear: elevate women’s sports by providing equitable resources, so every athlete can reach their full potential.
Founder Suzie Betts created Boob Protect to give women and girls the protection they need to prevent breast trauma now and into the future. Inspired by her own experience and extensive medical research, Suzie found that female breast protection was overwhelmingly ignored in contact sports.
Breast impact happens in all contact sports and at all levels of play and, just like mouth and shin guards, we aim to make breast protection the new norm in all contact, impact and ball sports.
